Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

DUI (Driving Under the Influence)

Have you been arrested for a DUI?

Driving under the influence (DUI) is generally referred to when a person is under the influence of alcohol while operating an automobile. The substance can be in many forms not just alcohol as long as it impairs your ability to operate a vehicle. Also, the vehicle can be as boat, bicycle or many other moving objects.

The first offense is usually a misdemeanor unless there are particular circumstances involved such as bodily injury to another person. The more DUI offenses a person has the more likely it will become a felony charge and hasten deportation.

If you are NOT a green card holder or without a valid driver’s license, the police may report you to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which can REQUEST for Deportation.

It is very important that the DUI offender contact a family member immediately so that there is no delay in notifying our office. We will make a determination if an Immigration Bond or Criminal Bond is appropriate. An immigration hearing may also be an option.
